This installation was a challenge due to the adjacent high rise building to either side of the flat roof. A steel frame was designed and assembled so that the solar PV panels are above the parapet to avoid shading.

To limit shading as much as possible, a south-north orientation was used in order to capture as much daylight from the Sun at peak times considering the shading issues with the adjacent higher buildings.
36.4kWp array consisting of 130 solar PV panels connected to inverters and monitoring equipment inside the building is now producing renewable energy for the electric demand for the student accommodation.
Installation completed within 4 days, ahead of schedule.
